When can my child start swimming? Our Parent and Me classes start at six months old, and Bayside Aquatics offers a full progression of classes from babies and toddlers through to our highly regarded Squad Program.
Do you offer lane hire? Yes! Our pool is busy with our Learn to Swim and Squads program so it’s best to give us a call to enquire about lane hire schedules. Contact our friendly team on (03) 9581 3288
What temperature is the Pool? Our pool is set at a comfortable 30-31 degrees.
Do parents have to attend lessons? A parent or guardian is required to be in the water for all Parent and Me classes. Active supervision is required for children in our Learn to Swim lessons, in accordance with the 'Watch around Water' initiative.
Is my child safe? The safety of our students and staff is of utmost importance to us at Bayside Aquatics. All of our instructors hold First Aid and CPR qualifications along with Working with Children Checks.
How will I know my child’s progress? Progress is constantly monitored with instructors and assessors ensuring your child is always in the right level for their development. Children are promoted through the program as they attain necessary skills, which may occur at any point during the term. Please remember that progress occurs at different rates for different children. It is not unusual for children to take some time in attaining certain skills, please be patient and let your child progress at their own rate.
When should I arrive? Please allow 15 minutes before each class to get ready so that lessons can begin on time. Once you have paid your fees, there is no need to visit reception. Your instructor will take the roll.
What should I bring? For health and safety reasons, the wearing of a Bayside Aquatics swimming cap is compulsory in all lessons. A range of caps and goggles are available at reception. Squads may require additional equipment, so please ask one of our team. Please also bring a towel, change of clothes and appropriate footwear for a swimming pool (thongs).
How do I arrange make-up Classes? Make-up classes will be offered if you contact the centre prior to the swimmer’s lesson time. These classes can be arranged up to six days ahead and are subject to availability. We allow a maximum of two make-up lessons per child, per term.
Where can I buy a coffee? Our fully equipped kiosk offers coffee and light snacks, or you can visit the student-run café at Mentone Grammar's Greenways Campus between 8.30am and 3.30pm Monday-Friday.
How do I pay? Payment is required before the term commences, payment can be made via the customer portal, over the phone or at reception.
